De Smet’s “Legendary Leaders” are people who live lives that exemplify–in our great Jesuit tradition–“doing more and doing better.” While many of our leaders have gotten their start at De Smet Jesuit, each has done so in his own way–some with much fanfare and others very much below the radar.
Classes at De Smet Jesuit High School began on September 5, 1967. As the values of the Jesuit mission came to life in the halls, teachers, staff and community supporters rallied around the school's mission to build character and nurture the culture of brotherhood.

From mission trips abroad to assisting and volunteering at agencies in our community, our students are able to experience life from a different perspective, while learning the responsibility of being “Men for Others.”
